Injury Updates

• LATEST INJURY UPDATE - August 16th, 2024

Medical scans showed a possible metatarsal issue when Leny York joined from Lille. Executives pressed ahead with the signing anyway, due to a firm belief the 18-year-old defender will be a top player for United for the next decade. It was seen as a rare opportunity to capture one of Europe’s highly-regarded young players, ahead of Real Madrid.

Manchester United handled Yoro carefully and he trained in only 50 per cent of their sessions, but he suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal (on the outside) of his left foot in his second game for the club, against Arsenal in Los Angeles. [lauriewhitwell]

• Worrisome Updates in America

Fresh from a shocking defeat in South Carolina against arch rivals, Liverpool [0-3], the boss have been speaking to MUTV providing much anticipated injury updates on the injured members of his squad.

During the match, Jonny Evans & Victor Lindelof were withdrawn at half time and were replaced by Will Fish & Rhys Bennett with the former suffering an impact injury after a collision with a Liverpool player during the match, he was stretched off and needed to be replaced.

West Ham United transfer target, Aaron Wan Bissaka was also brought off for a precautionary measure to discourage aggravating a potential injury.

When asked by the club's TV presenters during the post-match interview about the worrisome injury concerns, He said;

“Always, we have to see what has gone on. The assessment, of course, with Will Fish is it’s an impact injury. We also had to sub Jonny Evans at half-time because he was ill. Victor Lindelof [was] a precaution. So, yeah, there are some injuries, but we have to see how bad it will be.”

Before kickoff Ten Hag spoke about noticeable absentee, Harry Maguire who started the last game against Real Betis, He said;

"Pre-season is always tough. But, yeah, Harry Maguire, as a precaution, we leave him out,”

“And we had, of course, some injuries, but that is part of club football. We have to develop our team and make some good progression.”

Manchester United are scheduled to return to Manchester later today after taking a short rest.
